I can’t believe how quickly time flies by these days. Another fabulous couple is celebrating their anniversary! Congratulations to Yin-Lynn and Phil. I love walking down memory lane so here’s a few quick snippets from their wedding day that we helped plan from very beginning to the memorable last dance.
The bridesmaids and maid of honour got ready with the bride in her home. It was a nice relaxing time for them to chit chat and get ready. My usual recommendations of hair and make-up stylists did another spectacular job! I was really happy to see that Yin-Lynn’s mother was more than thrilled with her very own transformation.
We then started off the day with the guys coming to fetch the bride and of course, they had to hurdle through the Chinese door games in order to get admittance into the home to get the bride for the groom. These moments are always so funny and hilarious! The poor guys, played dress up in swimwear, drank a whole assortment of concoctions, etc. but ended up being really good sports about the whole thing.
Once the games were completed, they did their very first segment of the tea ceremony. It’s really an intimate moment for the bride and her parents as she “leaves” her parental home. We were thrilled to be able to assist and facilitate this special moment for them. Incorporating Chinese wedding traditions into Chinese weddings can be really heart felt for the families involved.
Then they headed off to Casa Loma for their spectacular photo session. When we dialogued about where to have photos taken, Yin-Lynn and Phil were really sure what kind of feel and ambiance they wanted to captured, so Casa Loma ended up being the perfect spot for them.
Next, the bride and groom with their entourage then headed to their wonderful venue where they had some time to freshen up prior to the start of their outdoor wedding ceremony.
They had cocktails and hors d’oeuvres served on the rooftop where the outdoor wedding ceremony was held and everyone really enjoy the fabulous weather. The guests then made their way into the grand ballroom. When the doors open, they were greeted by custom lamp shade centrepieces that were accented with purple dendrobium orchids. Purple was their wedding theme colour.
The following scrumptious traditional Chinese wedding banquet meal and live band entertainment was raved about by all the guests. Once the venue lights were dimmed, the centrepiece lamps lit a soft and warm glow at each table. The dancing was fabulous and the seafood stations and sweets table were another big hit.
Many thanks to the awesome wedding team that made this whole day happen for this very special couple!
