When you think about New York city, the major attractions you probably think about are Times Square, Manhattan, Donald Trump, Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Central Park, The Metropolitan Library and The Metropolitan museum. What about seeing a Castle? That’s right folks, Oheka Castle is one of those gorgeous places to host a wedding celebrations and your guests will be in awe of this spectacular venue.
In 1917, construction began on what would become the second largest private residence ever built in America. The estate served as a summer home for Otto Kahn, his wife Addie, and their four children. Oheka Castles is located at 135 West Gate Drive, Huntington, New York. JFK International (John F. Kennedy) airport and LaGuardia airport are about 40 minutes away from this site, or one and a half hours from Newark Liberty airport. It is about 45 minutes from Manhattan.

I had the privilege of having a private tour with the current owner’s daughter in 2011 and absolutely fell in love with this gorgeous wedding venue. She told me that her father still lives on the property and that he frequently walks the grounds. This site has been celebrating the art of entertaining since 1919, when OHEKA’s first bride, Maude Kahn, hosted her wedding in the Grand Ballroom. This is the picture perfect place for that Cinderella princess wedding theme.

Oheka Castle is the second largest private home in America. It features 32-bedroom (all decorated differently), and this French-inspired castle sits on 22.1 acres and boasts a formal garden with eight reflecting pools, three fountains, and a marble gazebo—the perfect backdrop for any wedding ceremony. Oheka Castle has been the venue for some celebrity weddings including Kevin Jonas and Joey Fatone. Taylor Swift also shot one of her music videos at this place.

This is another ideal spot for wedding photography. It is even more wonderful in person.
Oheka Castle has so many choices of event spaces; both indoors and outdoors – it is really hard to decide what to feature in our blog. So we decided to post as many pictures as possible. We know you will not mind scrolling through beautiful photos, so please bear with us!

We love how they will only host one wedding event a day. Therefore, you will not have any other brides photo bombing your wedding!!
