Chinese Wedding Planner Celebrates Canada150 with Canadian Wedding Style Shoot – Part Two

We, Canadians are celebrating the 150th anniversary of Confederation and February 15 is National Flag of Canada Day.  These next few photographs from our Canadian wedding style shoot focus on the handsome details from the groom’s attire.  Thank you to Rhythm Photography for these stunning images.

There is no better way to think about our Canadian grooms enjoying the great outdoors, or the Canadian fans wearing their Hudson’s Bay Olympic Canadian gear with great pride.  We were fortunate enough to be able to find Canada flag cuff links and the traditional Hudson’s Bay colours in a handkerchief for this shoot.  These two Canadian iconic staples that are well known.

The word Canuck is a slang term for being Canadian.  Its original origin are not entirely certain and it’s term is usually met with endearing sediment.  #WeTheNorth #CanadianPride

They say the average man walks 5,000 steps a day. But the man who wears the classic whole-cut bespoke Oxford handcrafted by Toronto’s Peter Feeney, who apprenticed with Florentine master Calogero Mannina, is anything but average.  Before decamping to Italy six years ago to learn the trade with a Florentine shoemaker, the admitted footwear fanatic was a media professional in Toronto. Peter Feeney dropped a career in film production to open a custom-made shoe operation in Toronto.   These two toned brown leather shoes were lovingly handcrafted by Peter Feeney; and there are few artisans left like him.  Any groom will want to ensure that his feet look just as fabulous as the rest of his ensemble on his wedding day!

We also love that a ranunculus was chosen by Perwinkle Flowers for the groom’s boutinnere instead of a rose.   The name ranunculus is a combination of two Latin words, rana meaning frog and unculus meaning little. It is assumed that ranunculus flowers earned this name because they grew along streams and were as plentiful as little frogs in the spring.

The ranunculus flower is also known by the name Coyote Eyes. According to Native American Legend, it earned this name when Coyote was throwing his eyes into the air and catching them again to entertain himself. It seems that Eagle suddenly swooped down and snatched Coyote’s eyes from mid air. Unable to see without his eyes, Coyote plucked two buttercups from the field and fashioned them as new eyes.
