Beatrice + Duncan – Hacienda Sarria – a unique venue in Kitchener Waterloo
Working with Beatrice and Duncan was a lot of fun. Since Beatrice has a background in design, Wendy was able to collaboratively work on each design element that incorporated an elegant rustic wedding theme in this Spanish inspired setting.
Couples are always in search of an unique wedding venue space and the Hacienda Sarria is definitely something of a unique experience. The initial drive to the venue leaves the guests and wedding vendors to wonder what they will encounter when the reach the final destination. However, upon arrival and entering the front doors – guests will have their breath taken away by all that they see.
Beatrice and Duncan chose to have their wedding ceremony outside against the beautiful backdrop of the front exterior of the building. Since the weather was beautiful, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were also served outdoors. The guests then eventually moved inside where they dined under the sky light where sunlight streamed in; casting a warm glow on the head table and guests tables. Using burlap table linens and white cotton napkins, this enhanced the rustic feel. Tall centrepieces composed of curly willow branches and white dendrobium orchids was another way of incorporating both elegant and rustic overtures.
Wendy was able to secure a Chinese caterer to take special care of integrating a truly Asian Fusion inspired cuisine for the evening. The guests dined on traditional Chinese wedding banquet dishes but also served beef tenderloin as the main entrée. The evening’s festivities ended with dancing and a full sweet table spread. Many thanks to Taylor Jackson Photography for these superb wedding photographs.
